CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES
Effective December 1, 2004, the provincial government of Ontario eliminated partial support ($9.65 per visit to a maximum of $150 per year) for chiropractic care. The elimination of partial OHIP funding for chiropractic care means that the government has transferred the cost of care to the patient. If you have Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance, your plan may cover all or a portion of your chiropractic care. Many EHC insurance policies cover chiropractic care. This would also include acupuncture, laser therapy, specialized soft tissue therapy, electrotherapy and rehabilitative exercise prescription services under the chiropractic coverage umbrella. Your chiropractic care may also be covered under approved Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims where applicable.
CUSTOM ORTHOTICS
Many Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance policies fully or partially cover individuals for custom orthotics.
You do not need a referral to be tested and examined for orthotics. However, you may need a medical referral in order to receive re-imbursement for orthotics from your insurance company. Our centre provides detailed estimate letters that explain: diagnosis, description of examination and manufacturing process, including raw materials used, lab information and credentials. Additional information such as the Biomechanical Examination
and Proof of Manufacturing can also be provided if required. It is strongly encouraged that individuals examine the details of their coverage and be aware of any other criteria that must be fulfilled for reimbursement. Our chiropractic doctors are trained to prescribe and dispense custom orthotics.
PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES
If you have Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance you may be eligible for all or part of your treatment to be reimbursed.

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY (RMT)
If you have Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance you may be eligible for all or part of your treatment to be reimbursed. In some instances, insurance plans may require a physician's referral prior to the start of treatments. Massage therapy may also be covered by your automobile insurance company for approved MVA claims where applicable.
NATUROPATHIC CONSULTATIONS
If you have Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance you may be eligible for all or part of your treatment to be reimbursed. Please check your policy for details.
PSYCHOTHERAPY AND CLINICAL COUNSELLING
Many Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance policies fully or partially cover individuals for Psychotherapy and Clinical Counselling. These services may be specifically covered under "Psychotherapy" or "Counselling". Please check your policy for details.
CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK AND COUNSELLING
Many Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance policies fully or partially cover individuals for
Clinical Social Work and Counselling. These services may be specifically covered under "Social Work" or "Counselling". Please check your policy for details.
NURSING FOOT CARE
Many Extended Health Care (EHC) insurance policies fully or partially cover individuals
for Nursing Foot Care. Please check your policy for details. Your receipts may also be applied as a tax deduction where applicable. |
