WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic is well recognized within the health care system. Chiropractic care is covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) for occupational injuries, by automobile insurance in the event of a motor vehicle accident (MVA) injury, and by many Extended Health Care (EHC) plans. Chiropractors are primary health care providers. There is no medical referral necessary to access chiropractic care.

There are many different chiropractic techniques that can be employed to help people address their individual musculoskeletal complaints. Many methods complement each other and work best when combined. Each individual is different and therefore may respond better to one treatment more than another. Additionally, some people have a preference to the technique that is used in their treatment. At the New Hamburg Wellness Centre, patients always have a choice as to the type of care they would like to receive.

• CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS
• Diversified manual adjusting is a chiropractic procedure delivered by hand that uses controlled force and leverage with precise direction and speed to a specific joint to restore normal motion and function relieving muscle dysfunction, inflammation, pain, and nerve irritation.
• Activator method utilizes a hand-held instrument that delivers a precise adjustment with consistent velocity with no rotary component, "cracking" or "popping" sound of joints. The activator may be used on any joint. The activator is a great alternative for people who are sensitive to being touched or for children, seniors, and those with osteoporosis or arthritis.
• Gentle joint mobilizations are used to restore subtle mechanical imbalances and joint dysfunction. It is also particularly useful for those sensitive to therapeutic touch and for those with certain medical conditions.
